WayLit is an immigration management platform focused on the needs of employers and their foreign national employees. We are on a mission to improve our customers’ experience with immigration by using automation to make hiring and supporting foreign national employees easy.

Our stack is made of Django + PostgreSQL running on AWS ECS. The frontend is server-rendered templates with Tailwind, Alpine.js, and htmx. We use an iterative agile process (Kanban) for development. We aim for high quality, well-tested code.

We’re a very small tech team trying to get a lot done. We value excellence, velocity, and communication. We do that by thinking deeply about our problems, having a bias for action, and showing our work and seeking feedback often.

We want you to:

Have deep expertise in Django. Full-stack preferred, but will consider back-end only
Have fluency in Python and TypeScript
Have worked with Git, Docker, Linux
Take pride in excellent code quality, communication, and documentation
Have used Alpine.js or htmx, great!
Have passion - to learn, to help, to feel, to push and to move forward.
Be comfortable with leading efforts, designing solutions and measuring outcomes.
Have excellent organizational skills, can manage multiple initiatives and can land multiple ‘balls in the air’ safely.

What you’ll do:

Contribute to the design, architecture, and development of our core Django platform
Make architectural changes and own implementing them
Design and develop features from start to finish
Write tests
Write documentation

Take home code test of a few hour
Interview 2 - 1hr
